In 2024, Colibri, our bi-propellant vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) rocket, will perform its first flight. This will demonstrate our ability to implement this advanced technology, used for launcher reutilization and interplanetary landers. Two sub-projects were started in 2020 in order to develop the key elements of this vehicle: an UAV named uMouche (initially BUZZ) for the flight control and our F-100 bipropellant engine for the propulsion.

We all came from the same highschool, and have been sharing our passion for space for a long time. Creating the association was thus a logical step in order to take part in that industry. With a great compatibility and internal communication, we were able, year after year, to get together to tackle ever-increasing challenges.
We created Gruyère Space Program in november 2018, after entering EPFL. Gaining experience and knowledge has been a clear focus from the very start, when we were building small 3D-printed rocket models. We have since then transitioned to TVC (Thrust vector control) rockets, to add an element of active control to our project.
Space is taking an ever increasing role, and the ability to propulsively land is of particularly critical importance. Be it for reuse of launchers or landing on other planets, VTVL rockets are highly sought after and we hope to contribute to this promising field.
